Reason Number 374 Why I Love Halloween: This is Considered a Well-Balanced Meal

Halloween: the one night of the year even the most health-conscious of helicopter parents say "screw it" and let their kids have candy and apple cider for dinner.

The Health-Conscious-Helicopter Parent rationalizes:

Apple cider is just smashed apples.  There's your fruit group.

Snickers have peanuts, a legume.  There's your vegetable, AND your protein.

Reese's Peanut Butter Cups!  Duh.  More peanuts.  More legumes!  And chocolate.  Most of these candies have chocolate, which comes from cocoa beans.  Everyone knows beans are good for you.

Then, to add to the meal more from the fruit group, you've got your fruit-flavored Skittles.

To top it off, a Milky Way bar.  Obviously from your dairy group.

Tonight, we're calling that a well-balanced meal!  Happy Halloween, kids!
